30 Days

One month. One short month from today, Jill Palmer and I leave for Tokyo. There’s so much to do in those 30 days! Visa’s, logistics, and plans for those at home.

Recently I had coffee with a friend who is the Missions Outreach Director for her church. Her title is probably a lot cooler than what I just gave her, but basically, she coordinates all the mission ministries – local and international – for her church. Currently she is prepping several young ladies to serve in Costa Rica. They are young moms. This friend said, “missions outreach is a family job.”

That is so true! These moms are coordinating child care, meals, doctor visits, car pools and study groups while mentally preparing to serve in a new culture and be away from her home.

When God calls, He equips.

Jill has two kids still in high school and activities as well as her job as Associate Pastor and wife. My husband is self-sufficient but I will still make a list of meals and pack the pantry before leaving. He is also picking up with keeping the grandbabies while I’m gone when their mom works. My daughter-in-law is juggling schedules with my being gone and she gets to deal with a toddler who will to understand why there’s on Play Day with Mimi for 3 weeks.

Pray for us as we juggle and plan. Being moms, our hearts already miss our family!

Pray for our families – they are serving too!

Pray for Susan and the Hardricks! We are bringing some Home to them and they are excited! But sometimes, seeing those you love makes the leaving even harder when they go. We want to love and encourage and uplift and leave them feeling renewed.

Sent2tell – the name originally came from the idea of going to these serving in ministry, meet their people, see their heart, meet their people, experience their call and then share with others.

Tonight, I’m seeing sent2tell in a bigger meaning – we are being sent to tell these families – we see you; God sees you and we LOVE YOU!
