No one does this well. Not one person I know is great at waiting. Though we all have plenty of time to exercise this skill, somehow we don’t get any better at it.
“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the LORD” (Psalm 27:14, KJV).
Lately, I feel God is silent. In the early morning hours as I tossed yet again in my bed, I heard the whisper of God: there is nothing for me to say.
What?
There is nothing for me to say in this situation that I haven’t already said. You know the process. You know the end of the story. Wait.
God has spoken. I will wait.
The Lord is the everlasting God,
Isaiah 40: 28-31
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
