Processing

It’s one of the current buzz-terms coined from the technological age in which we live.

If you’ve used a computer or phone in the past 30 years, you’ve seen that annoying little circle in the middle of the screen that is like a fast-moving stop watch. It implies the computer is working at a fast pace, trying to solve your issue and help you on your way.

It’s more likely that the computer – or phone or any other electronic device – is mystified by what you are requesting it to do. Even more likely – you are not connected to the right web or service or server or program.

That’s life. We are all processing this life of ups and down and pain and joy and sometimes it takes a while to understand what is needed of us because we aren’t connected properly. We are trying to make sense of everything around us through the eyes of a mortal, frail, flawed human being. We are not connected to the Source of Life. We are trying to function with a weak signal and outdated programming. We need a reboot.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about Heaven. I have a dear friend who loves to study Heaven! She knows all the verses about it’s streets and walls and buildings. I always get excited about heaven when I listen to her talk. My knowledge is more limited. I know heaven exists. I look forward to the rest it will bring. This past week, two things came to mind when thinking of our Celestial Home: first, Heaven will be amazing because Jesus will be there; and, second, all my memories will be happy.

I don’t believe God erases our bad memories, I believe that in Heaven, God will give us understanding for the pain we endured here. We will be able to see with infinite eyes the finite world in which we lived. It will make sense.

Until then, I will keep processing. And when my little circle is spinning out of incessantly, I will remember to check my Connection to the Creator and reboot my Faith.

“We have this anchor for the soul, firm and secure…Jesus.” Hebrews 6:19,20
