“Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or with the wine he drank,” Daniel 1:8.
Sometimes we are waiting for God to change our hearts, attitudes, and habits and He is waiting for us to show some determination. Some grit. To do right, act right, say the right things, go the right places.
The chapter goes on to tell us that Daniel and his men only ate vegetables and drank water – not a healthy diet by vegetarian standards. But yet these men prospered – they were healthy and it was evident from their very appearance!
Why?
God honored their determination.
That “thing” you are struggling with and asking for God’s deliverance, perhaps He is waiting for you to show some determination to Do, Be, Act, Live differently.
Lord, I am DETERMINED to live a life that pleases you – not an easy life, but one that is possible with you!
