Complicated Hope

Cloudy day and falling leaves
Misty rain and damp

Wishes drown in maybes and might haves
Fears find their footing in fog

Wrapped in layers of hopes
Futures become dimmed by distance

Fight against the shifting vapor
Cling to the vow of Light!

Shout against the creeping tide!
Claim the ancient birthright

Of suns that shine and moons the glow
Of tides that ebb and flow

Today tomorrow millennia past
Circles wrapped in riddles

Catechism continues eternity long –
To know and be known

Find rest in the vastness
Of questions unanswered

Find glory and comfort
In stories long told

Created from amaranthine promises
Blankets of peace descend from the sky

Cloudy day and whispered dreams
Of tomorrows and tonights and futures bright
